A favourite restaurant with many of our visitiors  is La Cour Verte where you can watch as your choice of local meat is roasted on an open fire . Non meat loving options are available too! For seafood lovers Cancale is a must. The pretty coastal town is dedicated to fabulous restaurants selling the very best seafood in the world..

Markets

Markets are still a hugely popular way to shop in France and the quality of the produce is superb. get a true taste of local life.hussle and bustle scrumptious cheeses salads  enjoy the flowers coffee and a croissant whilst people watching local produce.

Antiques/Depot Ventes

Find a really original souvenir to take home, rooting around a depot vente or antique shop gives you an insight into other people’s lives with the added bonus of being able to take something home with you..

Sand and Sea

We’re an easy drive away from Brittany and Normandy beaches, with sparkling clear waters and golden sands that stretch for miles.

Sand Yachting

Close by on the flat sands of Cherieux, you’ll find top class sand-yachting.

Riding

From pony rides for tiny tots to superb adult treks out across the Bay of Le Mont St Michel a canter across the sands at sunset  Mont St Michel glittering on the horizon as hooves chase the waves.

Cycling

exploringing Brittany by bicycle is just lovely. The speed of travel really suits the tranquil environment and gives you chance to see things that you could otherwise miss. No need to bring your own, we hire bikes.

Food

Picking up something different from a market stall or local shop is great fun. Our kitchens are well equipped, so you can enjoy preparing delicious meals at home while on your holiday.

Chateaux

There are plenty around to visit and explore. Combourg is the most famous in the area and has a lovely lawns for picnicing. No visit to France is complete without a visit to one of the stunning chateau.

Wildlife

You’re likely to see a deer running through a nearby field, there are foxes and even wild boar around too.

Bird Watching

The unspoiled rural location is wonderful for bird watching. You don’t even need to leave the garden to see buzzards, kestrels and even barn owls

Zoos

The local zoos are fun for all the family, with kids play areas and picnicing. The Eco Musee in Rennes has a great selection of rare breed, Breton animals and often has talks about local farming which are fun and interesting.

Aquarium

St Malo aquarium is one of the best aquariums in Europe. You can sing in a yellow submarine and watch in awe as a shark swims over your head.

Stately Homes

Share in the wealth and magic of one of the stately homes in the area. La Bourbonsais is a favourite of ours.

Alligator World

A great collection of reptiles and a superb hands on experience with enormous tortoises

Museums

Grab some culture and learn about the history of the area. The medieval museum in Dol de Bretagne has great displays.

Walks

The area is perfect for walking. The Ville Cartier forest is truly magical and gentle meandering along the pretty country lanes is a delightful experience

Fishing

A popular sport in the area, passes can be bought at the tackle shop in Pontorson. Carp seem to be a favourite

Golf

The area is renowned for the golf courses. Our nearest is at Les Ormes. Kids can play by the pool or play crazy golf, mum can relax with a coctail in the sun, while dad heads off for a round.

Whatever it is that you love doing on holiday, you’re pretty sure to find it nearby...

When you arrive you’ll be given a visitor’s pack crammed with up to date information about the area and all the stuff there is to do here.... and..whether it’s a reservation for a romantic dinner for two at a great restaurant, directions to the best out of the way sandy coves, or a list of feeding times for our chickens!.. your nearby hosts will be happy to help.

And don’t forget that without leaving Le Moulin you’ll have the fun of Tallulah’s mini farm, dog hire for country walks, bike hire, private splash pools, TV, BBQ, and a lovely tranquil home and garden to relax and enjoy..

Guests at Hillside Cottage are welcome to visit Le Moulin to enjoy the animals, hire bikes etc. Hillside is also equipped with TV, BBQ and splash pool.
